Ingrediënten

  • milk
  • double cream
  • egg yolks
  • caster sugar
  • vanilla bean paste
  • oranges
  • sunflower oil
  • self-raising flour
  • cocoa powder
  • light brown sugar

Bereidingswijze

  1. Place milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks, vanilla bean paste, orange juice and orange zest in mixing bowl then cook 11 min/90°C/speed 3. Transfer to a shallow freezer-proof container (up to 3 cm deep), and cover with lid or cling film. Leave to cool completely before placing in freezer overnight. Clean mixing bowl.
  2. The next day, remove from freezer and leave at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile, grease and line a deep bowl (Ø 18 cm) with cling film.
  3. Tip out ice cream and cut into squares (3 cm). Place half the frozen squares in mixing bowl and crush 20 sec/speed 6 then mix 10 sec/speed 4. Transfer to prepared bowl and set aside.
  4. Place remaining ice cream squares in mixing bowl and crush 20 sec/speed 6 then mix 10 sec/speed 4. Transfer to prepared bowl and place in freezer for at least 2 hours, or until frozen. Continue with recipe.
  5. Preheat oven to 155°C and line a springform cake tin (Ø 18 cm) with baking paper.
