Ingrediënten

Bereidingswijze

  1. Place yeast, flour, oil, 340 g water and salt in mixing bowl. Mix 20 sec/speed 5, then knead Dough /6 min. Meanwhile, grease a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Transfer dough to prepared bowl, cover with cling film and leave to rise until doubled in size (approx. 1-2 hours). Meanwhile, dust 2 large baking trays with flour and set aside.
  3. Transfer to floured baking trays then, using a sharp knife, make a diagonal cut through middle of each piece of dough, starting and finishing 2 cm from edge so that a rim of dough remains around the fougasse. Then cut 3 smaller slashes either side of central slash to form a leaf pattern, again leaving a 2 cm rim of dough between each slash. Pull slashes open, using fingertips to form large holes at least 3 cm wide. Leave to rise for a further 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 240°C.
  4. Using fingertips, sprinkle 1 Tbsp water over risen dough. Bake for 15-20 minutes (240°C) until light golden brown. Transfer to wire racks and leave to cool before serving.
