Ingredients
- chana dhal
- water
- cooking oil
- onion
- garlic cloves
- fresh coriander
- spinach
- green chilli
- fresh ginger
- water
Instructions
- Place onion, garlic, coriander and spinach in mixing bowl, blend 10 sec/speed 5. Transfer mixture to a fine mesh strainer, and use the back of the spoon to gently press out excess liquid. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
- Drain and rinse the dhal using simmering basket. Place soaked dhal, green chilies, ginger, 1 tbsp water and 1 tbsp rice flour in mixing bowl, blend 30 sec/speed 5. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula, blend 5 sec/speed 5.
- Add reserved onion mixture, cumin seeds, chili powder, turmeric powder, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl, knead Dough /30 sec. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
- Place 1200 g water in mixing bowl, boil Kettle /100°C. Place Varoma into position, steam 15 min/Varoma/speed 3. (see tips)
- Set Varoma aside and allow to cool for 5 minutes, then unmould.
