Ingrediënten
- gram flour
- plain yoghurt
- large egg
- garam masala
- fenugreek leaves, dried
- lemon juice
- ground cumin
- fine sea salt
- Kashmiri chilli powder
- water
Bereidingswijze
- Place flour, yoghurt, egg, garam masala, dried fenugreek leaves, lemon juice, cumin, salt and chilli powder in mixing bowl then mix 10 sec/speed 4. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula.
- Add water and mix 10 sec/speed 4.
- Add sliced onions and mix 10 sec//speed 2. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl and stir with spatula. Allow mixture to stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oil in a deep fat fryer or deep, heavy based saucepan to 190°C.
- Stir onion mixture well then using two heat-proof, long-handled spoons, gently place 1 tablespoon-sized clumps of battered onions into hot oil. Fry in batches for 4-6 minutes (190°C), turning to ensure even cooking. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towel. Serve hot with salad garnish, raita, chutneys or lemon wedges.
