Onion Pie
This savoury onion pie combines caramelised onions and bacon in a creamy filling, all perfectly mixed in your Thermomix TM7 for consistent results every time.

Ingrediënten
- shortcrust pastry
- onions
- oil
- bacon lardons
- sour cream
- medium eggs
- caraway seeds
- fine sea salt
Bereidingswijze
- Roll out pastry until 5 mm thick and use it to line a fluted tart ring or suitable tin for a quiche (Ø 28 cm). Prick the base with a fork, line with baking paper and weigh down with baking beans then blind bake 25-30 minutes (180°C) until lightly golden. Meanwhile, continue with recipe.
- Place 400 g onions and 25 g oil in mixing bowl then chop 2 sec/speed 6. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula then cook 15 min/120°C//speed . Transfer to a large bowl and leave to cool to room temperature.
- Place remaining 400 g onions and 25 g oil in mixing bowl and chop 2 sec/speed 6. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula then cook 15 min/120°C//speed . Transfer to bowl with reserved cooked onions and leave to cool to room temperature. Once pastry case is lightly golden, remove from oven and set aside to cool.
- Place bacon lardons in mixing bowl and saute 10 min/120°C//speed . Transfer to bowl with onions and leave to cool to room temperature.
- Place sour cream, eggs, caraway seeds and salt in mixing bowl then mix 15 sec/speed 4.
