Potato Farls
Traditional Irish potato farls made effortlessly in your Thermomix TM7. The Varoma steams floury potatoes perfectly before mixing them into a soft dough with butter and fresh chives for a classic breakfast bread.

Ingrediënten
- water
- floury potatoes
- fresh chives
- unsalted butter
- plain flour
- baking powder
- fine sea salt
- ground black pepper
Bereidingswijze
- Place water in mixing bowl. Insert simmering basket and weigh in potatoes then steam 25 min/Varoma/speed 2 or until potatoes are cooked. Remove simmering basket with aid of spatula then transfer potatoes to a large plate and allow to cool for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, discard steaming water and rinse and dry mixing bowl.
- Place chives in mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 9.
- Add cooked potatoes, butter, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper then mix 10 sec/speed 4.5. Tip out onto a floured surface, and divide in two. Form each piece into a ball then flatten using a rolling pin until 5 mm thick (Ø 15 cm). Cut the circles into quarters.
- Heat a little butter in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Place four pieces in pan and cook for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip over and cook for a further 3 minutes. Transfer to a warm plate then cook remaining four pieces. Serve potato farls while still hot.
